First off I’m just going to say this; I don’t mind being asked to review a product and enjoy it at times. What I dislike quite a lot is receiving several notes in the packaging specifically encouraging I write a five star review of the product. On to the product. . .
The labels are a heavy gauge vinyl and stick well to dry surfaces. Removal and reuse was okay, I was able to get about three uses before the edges would stop adhering. The marker design is interesting. You can flip the tip, easily but a bit messily, from a round point to a chisel tip. The liquid chalk writes quite wet and takes a while to dry. Once dry you need to be careful how you handle the labels. Moderate pressure causes the chalk to halo and spread out. The slightest dampness, such as the humid environment in a ‘fridge or damp fingers, will cause the chalk to badly smear. Oddly enough I found it almost impossible to completely remove the chalk from a label even using glass cleaner there was a white haze left behind.
Maybe with a more permanent white marker things would be better. I’d rather not be able to reuse the labels for less risk of smearing. The labels are attractive in an old timey way. I’d gladly buy more than mess around with trying to erase and reuse them.
I received this item in exchange for my review.

These are just what I was looking for! They write on clearly and wipe off easily with a wet rag. There are plenty of labels. I would like another pen, but it did last through all the labels. It would be better if it was thinner, because it gets worn down and thick after a bit. Also, unlike real chalk you will want to let it dry a minute to prevent smears. After you get the hang of it,it’s perfect! I’m ordering more! (Not that most people would need more, but I’m a label freak)

The is a really cute set of chalkboard labels. The designs are very nice and they look great on the sides of my containers! I have different types of flours, and sugars, as well as large containers of spices that I buy in bulk and use to refill the smaller jars and bottles I keep in my cupboard. This set has larger labels that I now have on my pantry containers, and some real cute smaller labels I stuck onto the small spice jars.
These labels would look great on jars of homemade jams, jellies, and canned items. However, if it is an item that would require refrigeration after opening, then I would use a permanent marker or paint pen to write on the label because any type of moisture would allow the ink to wipe off onto your hand every time you grabbed the jar.
The chalk marker that is included writes very well. I didn’t have any issues with getting the ink started or using it. If you use a light touch while writing, the ink will dry very fast, if you use a heavier hand the ink will be thicker and take longer to dry. Once dry, unless I used a damp cloth or paper towel, they did not smudge when I ran my finger over the ink.
The only issue I had with these chalkboard labels was that some of them were very difficult to remove from the paper backing they are stuck to. A portion of the paper separates and peels off right along with the label, so I had to spend a few minutes of scraping the edge with my fingernail until I was able to remove the label. Only a few of the labels I received removed easily from the paper backing sheet. Once removed though, these labels are easy to remove and reposition on your jars, containers, and bins. I really like how these look in my cupboard and pantry, everything looks so neat and tidy.
*Updated 7/16/15 – I was made aware of the fact that if you put these in the refrigerator for a few minutes it helps with the issue some of these stickers have releasing from the paper backing. I put them into the refrigerator for about 45 minutes and then tried peeling up the edges and couldn’t find any that stuck, so if you run into the same problem try chilling them a bit first! 🙂
