The stitch groover: Hated it at first, couldnt get it to work. Then I burned the wax out of the cutting head, realized how stupid I am, and now it works great and I use it alot. The extra heads are alright, but changing heads is a pain, makes more sense as a dedicated single head tool. On that note, its a worthwhile, affordable stitch groover, just remember to burn out the wax with a lighter.

I just received this item. I tried to change the heads and had problems. I looked down into it, and the holes that were drilled had large burrs on the inside of the hole, preventing me from replacing the head. I using the allen wrench that came with the package to de-burr the drilled hole.
aside from that, it seems to work fine. I haven’t had the chance to use this item extensively…but the results I did get were uniform. I’m sure the groover will need to be sharpened at some point in it’s life. A diamond rod or a small ceramic rod should work find. or just strop it on leather.
I don’t regret this purchase.
There are absolutely no instructions with this…but then again, it is a very very very basic tool.
WARNING***** there is a very small screw that is literally ***all*** important. DO NOT LOSE THIS SCREW. Did I mention the screw? it’s itty bitty. seriously guys…drop this thing once and it’s gone with the socks and the tupperware lids. JUST GONE!
I’m careful…so I still have mine.

I have used the 7 in 1 Stitching Groover, Beveler, and Creaser for approximately 30 small leather projects. Overall it’s a great tool to get started in leather works or doing simple projects, however, after 30 small projects I have a few things to say.
First, the Groover, after 30 projects it’s obviously isn’t as sharp as what it was – understandable, it’s something that needs to be replaced like a regular razor blade, however, I don’t see any replacements available other than to buy a new tool. I still use this, however, I have noticed that it doesn’t leave a clean cut groove but I am able to live with it because the stitching covers it up.
Second, the three Edge Bevelers, I gave up on after 10 projects because they became dull and were snagging the leather. Another issue I had was that the tool comes with 3 different sized bevelers; .8 mm, 1 mm, and 1.2 mm, when I received them, they were not marked, and I honestly cannot tell the difference by looking or even using them. The first couple projects the bevelers worked well, but after the 10th project, I gave up, and bought 4 dedicated bevelers, in 4 different sizes, which work much better. My opinion is the bevelers are fine for a few projects, but after that you will notice the performance will start to drop off.
Third, the Creaser, I haven’t found much use for this except when I need to make a fold, and this works about as well as using a nine penny nail and ruler. After using this on one of my projects, the process of getting this bit into the tool is tedious, and I haven’t used it since a nail will provide me with the same result and less aggravation swapping out bits, which leads me to my next point, swapping out bits.
Swapping out bits is a little bit of a pain. First, the screw that holds the bits in place is really small and can be easily lost if you are not careful, and no there are not replacements that come with the tool. Second, not really a complaint but just an observation, is that the Beveler has such a tight fit that I didn’t need the screw, and it wasn’t an easy slide on and slide off application.
Over all I rated this as a 4 because it is a tool that works much like a starter set, it got me through the projects I wanted, but as my interested evolved, the 7 in 1 tool started to lack in performance and efficiency. I think if the company was to include extra screws for holding the bits, and label the Edge Bevelers of the sizes, this would be a 5 star product.
