   I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 6-year old son, who is crazy about real and model trains. The great thing about Bachmann engines like this one is that the detail parts are fairly sturdy, unlike other brands (Proto 2000, for instance) that have more realistic-looking detail parts but are extremely delicate. It’s harder for a 6-year old to break the outer pieces of a Bachmann, and given the price point, it’s not as big of a deal if he/she does. It’s a smooth-runners, pulls well. Worth the money for someone starting out in the hobby!

   Got this for my dad (he’s 96) because his old engine no longer works and can’t be fixed. He is very happy with this.
