We purchased 3 of these sets for our Junior Church Day Camp. The bows have enough draw weight to be difficult but not impossible for most of the 7-12 year old kids. Many had never drawn a bow and were able to draw and release after 4 practice shots.
Most of the experienced 10-12 year old boys prefered the larger bow, but were able to compete with these.
This is exactly what we wanted. An inexpensive way to give the kids a first experience in archery.

This review is from: Bear Archery 1st Shot Bow Set (Sports)
No complaints. Very basic, yet does the trick, 1st bow. My son is almost 9 and I’m sure he’ll be able to use this for a long while. If you want an inexpensive bow for any age, to learn on, I can’t think of any reason why you’d be disappointed with this. It’s much bigger than I would have expected. Great deal!!!!

We got this bow for our son’s 5 year old birthday. He loves it and it works well for him. I didn’t think he would be able to pull it back but he did just fine.
