These are knitting needles, there’s nothing over the top about them. The pair I purchased were stained dark, and one needle was bowed and the other developed a snag at the tip. However, the bowing of one needle did not stop it from being an effective needle for knitting and the snag at the tip was easily fixed with a little sandpaper. The item came quickly and were packaged well, and there was no need to return. I wasn’t overly impressed or disappointed enough to send them back. It was easier to order these online than hunt them down at the local arts and crafts stores but if there were a yarn store nearby, I probably would have just purchased them there for about the same price.

Needles ARE fabulous. I love the dark look of the needles. All of my other bamboo needles are my grandmother’s and I love them, but now I can tell which ones I purchased.The kitchen yarn is wonderful as well. All Lionbrand fibers ARE fabulous. The book of patterns is wonderful and has fabulous patterns for all ages and skill levels.

I’ve become a serious knitter and typically have more than one project going at a time so having a lot of needles on hand is a must! Over the past year, I have discovered that I prefer the feel of smooth wood knitting needles over metal ones and these bamboo needles from ChiaoGoo feel really good in my hands.
The needles I ordered are slim (sizes 3, 4, and 5) so I wasn’t surprised that one set had a needle that was not perfectly straight; however, a slight bend in the needle will not affect the outcome of my knitting projects so it’s not a big deal to me. I gave this product 5 starts because it’s hard to find 13 inch needles and I’m so glad ChiaoGoo offers this length.
The balanced weight, smoothness of the wood, nice tips and patina are all pleasing. I would recommend the product.
