First of all, I paid for shipping and received this set almost 3 weeks after I ordered them, which was a little frustrating seeing that it was promised within 7 day.
There were definitely some unfinished plastic/metal bits where the handle meets the metal on some of the hooks but nothing that seems like it’ll get in the way for the yarn. The handles are coated in a soft rubbery/silicone material and definitely a step up from my all-metal skinny hooks. The biggest difference is that they’re bulkier in a good way (think pencil grip on a thin mechanical pencil)
I started using the 4.5mm hook to finish of a scarf and I can definitely say the hooks are very comfortable. Although they are pretty short (5.5 inches) and I do have small hands so I’m not sure if it would be less comfortable for anyone with larger hands.
Another thing worth mentioning is that these hooks are fine with light to medium weight yarn, but I tried to use a Lion Brand chunky yarn and it proved to be difficult because the working area is really small, especially with stitches that require multiple loops on the hook at once. Overall, these hooks are very soft and comfortable but may not work for everyone.

I have severe arthritis, especially in my hands. I wear compression gloves regularly, but when crocheting they will only help briefly. I ordered these hoping they would give me more relief and allow me to crochet longer without pain or stiffness. The past two nights I have crocheted for 2 hours each and have no extra swelling or pain. They are fantastic and a much better deal than the name brand that are 3-5 a piece. I highly recommend these especially for anyone with severe arthritis.

I was excited to see these hooks at such a good price and ordered them immediately. They looked very similar to the Clover brand I have wanted for some time. However, when they arrived I was very disappointed and am returning them right away. First, they are not aluminum hooks. They are plastic with aluminum coloring. Also the heads are covered in nicks where the plastic molds were separated and also have some sticky substance on them which will make crocheting without snagging or gumming up your yarn difficult. I was really bummed because the ergo grips are really nice. If the heads were a better quality (even for plastic) I would have kept them. I would rather apply my $20 towards the clover set than keep these.
