This review is from: Excalibur Electronic Saber 4 Electronic Chess Game (Toy)
The Excalibur Chess set works in an intuitive way, so you don’t have to spend a lot of time reading a manual. It has 73 levels, but I don’t think I’ll ever use them all because, so far, it’s kicking my butt on level 6. I thought I was beyond the beginner stage a long time ago, but I’ve learned I have a long way to go. Still, with Excalibur, I’m able to get in a couple of games every day, so maybe there’s hope.

I’m not sure that this product is made anymore. Excalibur has an “Einstein” computer, but not this one that I had to search for on amazon (because I have one that I bought about 10-years ago at our vacation home and wanted a second one for home and work.) It’s portable, easily carried and a pretty good game.

I bought this game at the mega-Goodwill in town for two bucks. It really is a lot of fun. Put the pieces in their starting position. Tap once to leave the spot, and then tap again on the spot where you land. The computer remembers everything. If you make an illegal move it gives you a warning beep. Hit the ‘hint’ button and it will suggest a good move for you. My first game it totally suckered me in. I was winning brilliantly and then 6 or 7 moves later I was totally decimated. Kinda makes you want to play again and get revenge.
