An easy-to-operate vehicle that can take the uneven terrain my yard provides—and keep going, June 13, 2016

It’s great to be able to have a remote control truck that is made for the outdoors and gives you all the fun you would expect while “driving” it down the road or over uneven terrain.
I got my pickup truck in exchange for an honest review, and things like this I always end up sharing with my nephew because he’s a big fan of anything that is remote-controlled. Like other vehicles by Velocity Toys that I have tried in the past, this one is really simple to operate, and though it is very reasonably priced, it has been my experience so far that it handles well and can take quite a bit.
Where I live things are not all flat and smooth. There’s some highs and lows to my yard, so it’s fun to see a vehicle like this handle that situation at various speeds. Definitely something I can tell others about with confidence, I’m enjoying the truck and looking forward to more opportunities with it.

This remote controlled truck, that I was provided for free to test and review, works pretty well, and I love that you can power it with rechargeable AA batteries. That is much better than have a proprietary rechargeable battery, because it is easy and cheap to have a lot of AA’s charged up and ready for use, instead of having to wait for a battery pack to recharge. The AA batteries can be used for other purposes when you aren’t using the truck, unlike a battery pack, that only has one use.
The truck is fast, and is pretty easy to control. It does well on lots of different terrain and the range is really far. It looks really cool and is well made.
I have no complaints about this truck, considering the sub-$30 price. I really like that it uses standard batteries.

This product is a modest-price, simple R/C truck that is good for someone trying their first R/C car, or maybe for a younger kid. I bet even a 6 year old could get the hang of it after a short while. This product worked correctly right out of the box. Keep in mind, however, that you will need to supply 4 AA batteries for the truck, and a 9V battery for the remote.
For my “Test Track” speed and range test, I used brand new batteries.
I hope these photos are helpful in deciding if this R/C product is right for you.
**FEATURES + The front turning alignment is adjustable. + Remote/Car pairing worked fine first thing out of the box. + Simple to pop-off the plastic body–just remove 3 small black retainer clips. + Simple to install all batteries. But don’t lose the little screw! + Shock absorbers on each wheel
**SPECIAL FEATURE**: I was able to control this truck up to 267 feet! This is impressive, and much longer than advertised!
On my Test Track, I measure how long it takes a car to travel exactly 63 feet, starting from maximum speed. In this way, I can calculate its top speed. I did the test 5 times. I take the fastest time, which was 4.76 seconds. That converts to 9.02 MPH.
**CON** (nit-picks) – Keep in mind that it’s really a modest-priced, sort of “starter” R/C product. For a teenager who has already been using R/C cars, this will probably be too simple for them. But for someone just starting out with R/C cars or trucks, this product would be a good place to start. – Need to supply batteries, so you will probably want to buy rechargeable batteries.
So all in all, this product worked exactly as advertised. It’s easy and fun to use. My criticism above are really very minor nit-picks. This product worked well right out of the box. If you are looking for a basic R/C product, this is a good value. The range of control is quite impressive.
Sample truck for impartial review.
