Unlike most people buying such nets, my purpose was to find one that would help me catch my ducks and chickens, when I need to get them between the garden and the coop. This works great for that. It is very light – which is fine as I don’t need to pick them up, only to stop them running away! It also is collapsible, which in this case means the front edge of just a thick rope. This helps avoid the possibility of bonking them on the head as the net comes down.

My fist impression of this net was positive I love the folding capability, very compact and at a good price. However first time out I landed two fish with this net, it’s a good size for bass, but too small for anything bigger (but I had anticipated that). My main problem with it was getting the hooks out of the mesh after releasing the fish. I think it’s a combination of the fabric and small holes used to make the net. So unless you plan on using this in something like a canoe or a kayak where space really is of the essence I would not recommend this net.

I got this for my father for Christmas. He fishes both from the bank and from his small boat. This was the perfect net for him and he loved it. Now I have to order one for myself.
