It is cheap and it works very well. The only major drawback is that it is incredibly fragile. One must be very careful when washing and sanitizing this because one slip or tap against the sink and this will crack or outright break into little pieces! That being said, it is plenty accurate enough for any skill level of homebrewing and cheap enough that replacing a broken one doesn’t hurt too badly. Don’t try to brew beer without a hydrometer!!! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comments (4) Reply 25 of 27 people found the following review helpful High quality, October 24, 2011 By Amazon Customer (Phoenix) – Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Hydrometer – Triple Scale Hydrometer arrived in great shape and works well. Now I know for sure when a batch of beer is ready to bottle! Also, for those that complain about the “testing container” that it comes in being too small… That tube is just the packaging. You are supposed to buy a “HYDROMETER TEST JAR” to test in. Or buy a more expensive hydrometer that comes with one :} 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment Reply 52 of 65 people found the following review helpful This is for Beer and Wine ONLY., January 17, 2012 By MB – Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Hydrometer – Triple Scale I didn’t see any indication that this was for beer or Wine only. I didn’t know until I got it in the mail. I was hoping it was a full scale one that would let me test any proof for spirits and silly me for assuming that because it doesn’t specify its proof range that it would work for this. It only measures up to 1.16 or about 20% Approximate Potential Alcohol by Volume. I guess I will gift it to my buddy who brews beer. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment (1) Reply Leave a comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
