This review is from: Infinite Edge Bow Package (Sports) I purchased this compound bow package and had it set up for myself originally- 30″ draw (it’s max draw) and set to 50 lbs draw weight (of 70 lbs available). Needless to say, this is the only compound, as a full grown adult, I will be purchasing. Already have taken it out to the field and was easier to handle than several of the others my hunting buddies carried with them- small enough to fit through thicker brush (while wearing my old military ghillie), as well as set heavy enough to bring down a 7 point buck!I plan on purchasing another for my daughter as she was showing an interest in learning archery, and she can grow with this one! — -My only issue with the set up is the sights and whisker “basket”. First, the sights- for a guy my size I needed to add washers to the sight as you can’t move the sights far enough! So, I searched out another sight and am happier not having to use an improvised sight to aim properly- even the associate at the local archery shop said most of the Infinite Edge bows need to have better sights set up coming from the factory. Second, the whisker “basket”- I had taken three shots through the supplied basket with Baer carbon arrows with 3″ vanes. The whiskers started to fall out! So I purchase a better basket through the local shop again, and was surprised at having had to do so as well as the clerk behind the counter…Most of the guys I shoot with have quite the setups, and much money sunk into them… I have fired off several quivers of arrows with most of them and find the Infinite Edge set up is comparable with less money spent overall. I’d recommend this setup for being cost conscious, as well as versatility to the individual end user. I went into this endeavor with cost, and setup in mind and advice from a lot of people who archers/hunters. what surprised them most about my choice was this bow is designed for youth to grow into… and here I am buying one as a full grown adult~ Well, it fit me well, (I’m 5’11, 220lbs) and was small enough to not be in the way while stalking, and even while wearing my ghillie, I didn’t tangle in any way. In my eyes, a winner! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comments (3) Reply 48 of 54 people found the following review helpful Great bow!, July 31, 2013 By Katie L Foster (NEWPORT, NC, US) – Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Infinite Edge Bow Package (Sports) I bought this to deer hunt this year. After having it adjusted to my draw length and adding a few accessories, I’m shooting as accurate as archers using $1,000 compound bows. This bow is great. Definitely recommended to anyone looking to begin in the archery world. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment (1) Reply 51 of 64 people found the following review helpful Great Value but needs tweaking, February 18, 2014 By James Zolinski – This review is from: Infinite Edge Bow Package (Sports) Overall, I like this bow very much. It is a terrific value. I compared this bow at a $339 price point to a Mathews bow at $999 price point. Statistically, they line up very well with only a small sacrifice in speed but if you’re a bow hunter with any knowledge of speed, a difference of 10 feet per second is virtually nothing. Bowtec advertises this package as ready to hunt but it is NOT. I bought my bow as a “ready to hunt” package from a dealer at a sports show. The string was installed incorrectly with several twists that required removal. The cams, although set at the same setting, were not tuned to the point where the draw stops contacted the string at full draw. This required adjustment. Break out your allen wrenches because every set screw on this bow required tightening, especially on the accessories. The accessories included with this bow are completely substandard. Not unexpected with this bow at this price point, and I knew that going into it so I’m not slamming them for this. In fact, I am able to purchase a new sight, arrow rest, and quiver and still come out far ahead of comparable bows at higher price points. But it bears comment that the sight is substandard for hunting. It will not bear the abuse of the field and the fiber optic end points easily come out from the pin mounts, pushing forward and become unseated. The arrow rest moves too easily and should be replaced. The quiver does not easily accommodate my aluminum arrows (carbon would fit fine), but the quiver mount needed to be shimmed out 1/4 inch to prevent it from coming into stressful contact with the vertical adjustment arm of the sight. The string stop almost came out of the bow the first time hunting because the set screw was so loose. All that said, given that I knew there would be some issues with this bow, I would buy it again and recommend it to others. The bow, once paper tuned, shoots like a dream. I can hit a quarter at 30 yards consistently. It is quiet, smooth, light, and a real joy to shoot. My confidence level is very high with this and despite the adjustments required, I am extremely happy with my purchase. No buyers remorse whatsoever. I am 50 years old and not getting stronger with age so the adjustability of this bow is precisely what I need to get me through the next 50 or 60 years of hunting I have left. You won’t find a better value than this bow. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment (1) Reply Leave a comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
