This kit makes 10 pairs of lightweight earrings, and it’s a good starter kit for someone who is just getting interested in making jewelry. It’s a really good one for teens. The pliers included have 3 surfaces on the jaws, the tips are round for forming loops, the middle part is flat for turning 90 degree angles, and the back is a wire cutter. Because of the placement of the cutter, you’ll want to trim the included head and eye pins before turning the loops. Since the pins are long for the beads, I recommend turning a loop on the end of one, then measuring it against a straight pin to get an idea how much you should leave for turning a loop. Trim the loop off the pin to use it. The beads are lightweight, but a bit inconsistent. The coatings aren’t even near the holes. It’s a minor flaw. The metal stampings, leaves, disks and filigrees are lovely, a light gauge of metal and in nice vintage colors. The earrings you can make using this kit are very bohemian, the warm colors of the beads and the metal, combined with the lacy effects of the filigree makes for very pretty lightweight earrings. I can’t wear heavy earrings and I like the weight of these. The enclosed booklet shows how to make earrings, with information at the back for turning loops, printer ruler and a gauge for bead sizes. The bead mat is a soft, foamy material that will keep beads from rolling. If you try this, and decide it’s a hobby you want to get serious about, I recommend getting single purpose pliers and cutters. They are a lot easier to use. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment Reply 9 of 9 people found the following review helpful I absolutely love this kit!, December 9, 2012 By cunnin69 (San Manuel, AZ) – Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
