This book on jewelry making is a well-organized, comprehensive guide to jewelry making. After first discussing the reasons people want to make their own jewelry, Janet Evans goes on to relay the fact that you do not need any experience whatsoever to get started. She details the supplies needed, the costs associated with jewelry-making, and how to care for the jewelry after it is made. In addition to all of this, she talks about the tools of the trade, the work area, the weights and measurements and, finally, discusses how to craft the various types of jewelry.
If you have any interest in this hobby or want to start a jewelry-making business. this book will provide you with all of the information you need to do so.

Don’t be fooled by the subtitle, “A Complete & Easy Step by Step Guide” because this is anything but. The book has no real information about making jewelry. It offers a lot of very general information (all available free on the internet) and a grossly oversimplified list of what to buy, with minimal information provided on various tools, supplies, and equipment. As for where to buy jewelry-making equipment, the author provides a pitch for eBay that I could have done without but doesn’t really suggest any other sources. I kept hoping it would get better, but it never did. Total waste of money and time. That’s what I get for not reading customer reviews.
