I really didn’t need any more interchangeable needles, as I have (many) other sets. But I really like acrylic needles, as they are somewhat “slick” but also “grippy” (if that makes sense). I really like the Zephyrs from KnitPicks, but they don’t appear to be offered in a set at this time (but, yes, I do own a set of those ;). I thought I’d give these a whirl, since Knitters Pride makes a quality product. They arrived quickly ( thanks, Amazon Prime, I love you) and I connected a set for a project I was working on. Nice sharp tips with the perfect taper and the nicest cables I think I’ve ever used. All my tips connected perfectly with the cables (unfortunately, the tip/cable mal-alignment is a not uncommon fault amongst all the different manufacturer’s interchangeables that I’ve purchased). Price here on Amazon was cheaper by a few cents than any of my regular online yarn stores. Didn’t notice when I ordered these that they did not include a US size 5 (which is sort of a bummer, since I use 5s more than I use 11s), but it’s still a really nice set and I’m glad I bought it. With the fun, funky colors they may very well end up as my go-to favorites. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment Reply 43 of 43 people found the following review helpful Nice, but fragile, only last a few weeks, November 27, 2013 By K. Nicole (Califirnia) – Verified Purchase(What’s this?) I really like these. Various sizes of needle and cord make projects and experiments easy to do and try. I have made 2 infinity scarfs, a set of footsie sacks(sloppy socks, my fault not the product), a baby wrap, a baby sack, and several experiments that I undid. I am able to cable knit easily with 1 needle and the short cord, and the needles are quiet compared to metal. Yarn slides easily when you want it to, but they grip better than metal needles. I like the pouch they come in, and I can keep it on my lap instead of having to keep a big box next to me. I only wish it was slightly bigger so I could keep a set of scissors and my count markers in it, then I could carry the bag and a ball of yarn and nothing else. But that is me not the product. One downside- the needles are too long to use easily with the shortest cord. They fit but….. It is tight and I feel like I’m going to break or bend the needles trying to make stitches. If they were an inch shorter they would be perfect, but that might be a personal thing for me, any shorter and other people might complain. I’m new to knitting anything but straight scarves, so maybe I’m doing it wrong. EDIT: the needles, especially the thin ones, are very fragile. One of the smallest ones needed a drop of glue to keep it from spinning on the metal post. Today I was working with the second smallest needle, picked up my work after a short break, and on of the acrylic needles broke where it joins the metal post. I contacted amazon to see if there is anything they can do, as i have only had the needles little over a month but past the return date. We will see what happens but… The smaller gauges are very fragile, so do not leave them out or use them to pick up any work. EDIT: ok, it is December 5th and another needle just broke at the join. If these lasted I would recommend them, but for the price they should last longer than 2 months. I now have three sizes that are not useable. Like the title suggests, the joints on these interchangeable needles are extremely smooth with little to no catches. I have needles similar to Boye’s Needlemaster Interchangeable needles, and for twice the price of this in the States you can have a large joint that is difficult to get the stitches over. I’ve already used them to make a set of arm warmers, and two drawstring bags without any hitches or the cords coming loose. They stay nice and tight until I get the key out to loosen them. These are by far the best circular needles I have ever owned and the only acrylic set I’ve seen! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment Reply Leave a comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
