Learn How to Knit in Less Than 12 Hours!” A basic How To Knit guide., May 9, 2016 By G Cheshire – This review is from: Knitting: Amazing Knitting Patterns! Learn How to Knit in Less Than 12 Hours! (Kindle Edition) I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to review it.This is purported to be a book of how to knit. It certainly covers all the basics. However, I feel most complete novices would require some additional help from someone who already knits or at the very least additional assistance from U Tube. This is not a criticism of the book so much as a feeling that to learn the very basic principles from a written description and illustrations, excellent though they are, would not be sufficient instruction for the reviewer initially. Having said that I am sure that it would be very useful as an aide memoir in the very early stages. It would also be invaluable as it includes what all the abbreviations used in knitting mean. The author explains how to interpret knitting patterns and charts at a very basic level. An explanation of basic equipment is covered and some simple patterns to get started. There were also instructions for quite a number of stitches in addition to the basic knit and purl. I was amazed how many there were and I suspect these were not exhaustive. This is an excellent How To book but I doubt it would have me knitting within 12 hours without a little extra help. Wheeler (Iowa) – This review is from: Knitting: Amazing Knitting Patterns! Learn How to Knit in Less Than 12 Hours! (Kindle Edition) “For some this make take a few hours, for others it may take days, or even months.” After initial perusal of the book I reached the conclusion that the art of knitting is closely related to magic. I suspected I would be in trouble when looking at the list of terms then knew it when trying the first step of casting on – tying a slip knot. To me the instructions made no sense. I also drew a bklank when reading how to do the most common stitches. For me the learning from a book would take more time than I have left. I can only assume it would be easier to learn through show and tell by an experienced knitter than from reading a book. That said I would rate this book as a fairly complete introduction with many suggestions to make the art a challenge and creative experience. It does reference using the internet to further pursue topics of interest without giving links to detailed web sites you might check. I would recommend this book to anyone who has som preliminary experience with knitting and is looking for new stitches and how to expand their own knowledge of how to create new patterns. I received a PDF version of this book at no charge in exchange for my honest review. Learn How to Knit in Less Than 12 Hours! (Kindle Edition) I crochet, but I’ve always wanted to learn to knit. I have a ton of knitting needles I’ve gotten from my grandma, but so far they just sit in the holder I made for them. Anyway, I like this book so much because of the pictures and diagrams. I love having an easy reference on how to do each stitch, and as I forget easily its perfect to have on hand when I want to knit. So far I’ve done only the knit stitch, and only a couple rows, but I’m getting the hang of it. This little book really is a great help! It goes into more than just the stitches, it goes into all the terminology, the abbreviations and the info the knitter needs to know like how to gauge a project, which needles to choose and how to do more than just the basic stitches. I’ve always been confused with the kit and pearl lingo, but this book is perfect to teach me. I still go to youtube to watch the stitches being done if I get stuck, but this is really a great book for any beginner! I was given a free digital copy in exchange for an honest review. I was not paid in any way and all opinions are my own.
