I will admit that I was worried that the scissors would be flimsy and cheap and not work well. I’m pleased that I was worried for nothing! The scissors work great and seem like they will last a long time. The holes on the scissors are snug, but they work ok for me.
I like the slotted tool a LOT better than the Quilled Creations tool for a few reasons.
1) the QC tool for some odd reason seems to attract every hair, lint, dust, spec, fiber, and miniscule bit of paper within a 10′ radius of it! ok, ok, slight over exaggeration, but it feels that way! It makes it uncomfortable to hold it and it feel like I have to clean it every day. The LCC tool, for whatever reason, does not seem to attract debris like that.
2) the QC tool slot is 5mm deep where the LCC tool is 7mm deep. This is beneficial when working with wider strips of paper. Most of what I’ve been working with is either 1/8″ strips and 1/4″ strips. The deeper slot helps when working with the 1/4″ strips of paper.
3) I think is is purely an OCD thing… the QC tool is not rigid in the entire handle. There is a (roughly) 12 mm part at the end of the tool where it is bendable/flexible. While I can work with it, sometimes it would be nice if it were inflexible the whole handle long when I’m struggling with wider strips and trying to get large circles made for 3D quilling. The LCC tool is rigid the entire length of the handle.
Lastly, the QC tool is about 4 and 1/4 inches long (10cm and 7mm, or 107mm) where the LCC tool is 4 and a half inches long (11cm and 3mm, or 113mm). I like the longer tool, but that’s just my personal preference.
Both are coated with soft plastic
(in the smaller parts of the tool it was easier to use mm to describe size because they were between 1/8 and 1/4 inches in measurement and I wanted to be as accurate as possible!)
The Probe tool (pokey thing) is rigid plastic on the handle like the scissors. It works well – no complaints
The tweezers are coated with soft plastic, like the slotted tool. I don’t feel it helps with grip, but it doesn’t hinder, either. It does make them a little less cold when you first pick them up.
The case works well – the zipper is smooth and functions properly and comfortably – I don’t have to struggle with it.
I like the kit very much 🙂

I love quilling, but it is so easy for me to misplace my tools. I wanted something to keep my quilling tools together and this works perfectly. Since all tools are relatively small, I am able to place additional items in the case along with those included. Another advantage to the case is that the tweezers and scissors are quite sharp and this method of storage adds the safety I wanted.
