This review is from: LEGO Trains 3225 Classic Train Locomotive Gondola Hopper Caboose (Toy)
This is an absolutely darling little set. It includes a small black engine, a tipping hopper, a small red coach, and a flat/gondola car. The set is full of extra pieces (tools, barrels, a chest, a wheel barrow, etc.) and includes three mini-figures. The design is reminiscent of earlier, classic Lego trains, and it is stylistically consistent. Due to the rarity of this set, it is of interest primarily to collectors.
This set comes from the 9 volt era of Lego trains. 9 volt runs on electrified track. Lego discontinued the system in 2007; motors and metal covered track have become increasingly scarce. The new “Power Function” trains use the same gauge track but they employ infrared remote control and battery-powered engines.
