This review is from: Maestro Homebrew Beer Equipment Kit w/ Auto Siphon (Kitchen)
This kit is perfect for those of you who are new to home brewing or thinking about upgrading from a smaller batch size fermenter. It is just as easy to use as some of the smaller size begginer home brew kits, but it has a few more advanced tools that really let you customize and create better home brewed beer. The products that come with the kit all seem to be of high quality and everything arrived packed neatly and in good shape. The instructions are very easy to follow and guide you every step of the way. It really isn’t much harder to use than the smaller 2 gallon begginner kits. The instructions teach you the process with an easy basic, but tasty, brew. It then gives you a recipe for most of the major styles of beer. All you will need is an ingredient kit, a big pot to brew in, bottles, and a few utensils to cook with and this kit will have all you need to make great beer. Cheers!

I recently got I to brewing my own beer. After looking at many brew kits I decided to go with this one. The cost is far less for this then similar kits. Comes with almost everything but you will still need to order a couple inexpensive items to be complete.
-5 gallon stainless steel brew pot. ( I paid $15 @ Family Dollar) – 24″ stainless steel spoon for stirring your brew. – hydrometer test jar. Kit does not come with one – Beer thief, taking samples – more cleaner, iodophor is what I ordered. – 5 gallon secondary carboy fermentor. – thermometer. I picked mine up at the local Meijer. $10 digital meat thermometer.
These are a few extra items I picked up. You don’t necessarily need these items but they make brew like a heck of a lot easier.

I originally had a Mr. Beer, but returned it for something a little more hands-on. Found this and bought it and have no regrets. It comes with pretty much everything you need to get started (I’ll let you know what else I bought later). Everything in the product description was in the kit.
Besides the beer ingredients, you need to separately get these things (unless you already have them, which I didn’t):
Nylon Grain Bag Strainer (or just reuse your grain bag) 5 gallon pot Bottles Caps Thermometer (it comes with one, but it’s a sticker that you place on your fermenting bucket) Mash Tun/Cooler (optional, but recommended) Star Sans (a sanitizer)
The reason I gave this 4 stars was because my airlock was broken when received and it comes with cleaner which is pretty much useless.
