I purchased this waxed thread for leatherworking – specifically putting a stitched border on a belt. This is about 1mm thick, and seems comparable to what you would get from Tandy Leatherworking or similar. It’s lightly waxed, and so is perhaps slightly less weatherproof than other threads I have come across. However, it’s better to be able to add more wax if desired, than to try to remove it. This is probably in line with it being marketed as a beading cord, but in my limited experience it seems fine for light leather stitching.
There are a number of earlier reviews which talk about it breaking – quality control may have improved since then – I wrapped a couple of turns around a pair of pencils and pulled for all I was worth. I ended up cracking one of the pencils before the thread gave way.
Compared to other products I considered before purchasing, you get *much* more thread for your money so it’s much, much better value. Color is bright and vibrant, pretty close to what my monitor showed me onscreen – the Dark Red had maybe a touch more burgundy to it, and the Mustard had slightly more of an ocher tint though (that’s dependent on whether you monitor is properly adjusted of course), so I see no reason not to give this 5 stars.

Mandela is the best I cord have used for my bracelets. It is uniform in thickness, strong and the colors are very nice and there are so many to choose from. It’s the only one I use now and if I run out of something I know they will ship it right away! Thanks!!
