A good circle cutter!, October 16, 2010 By S. Dart (San Antonio, TX USA) – This review is from: Martha Stewart Crafts Large Circle Cutter (Toy) I have tried several types of circle cutters and this is the first one that has worked. It is extremely easy to use-no practice required. You just follow the very clear directions which show how to position your hands. Be sure to use a glass mat underneath your paper and tape the edges of the paper to the mat. The blades are easy to replace and have a safe plastic cover. They store neatly in the top of the cutter. Please note that I am referring to the large circle cutter, not the one that is a circle with a rotating clear plastic disk in the middle with holes to insert the cutting blade. That type of cutter is very difficult to hold in place while turning the center. If you are looking for a simple, small, portable cutter for circles 4″ and larger, this is an excellent product. This review is from: Martha Stewart Crafts Large Circle Cutter (Toy) I normally don’t take the time to write reviews, but this product has created my need to do so! I tried MANY different circle cutters. Some did not work at all, and some were so sharp they cut my fingers (even though I am extremely careful). THIS circle cutter is WONDERFUL!!! Cuts up to 8 1/2″ circles. DOES NOT leave a hole in the middle of the circles as many do, AND it doesn’t slip! BUY IT! 🙂 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment (1) Reply 94 of 104 people found the following review helpful Martha Stewart Lg Circle Cutter – immediate return!, April 29, 2011 By CK – This review is from: Martha Stewart Crafts Large Circle Cutter (Toy) I finally went and bought the large Martha Stewart circle cutter from Michael’s, and was incredibly disappointed. After using it for one session (attempting to make half a dozen 8″ circles), I returned it immediately. It was easy to use, but it didn’t work well at all! Like other models of circle cutters, you need to use both hands — one to hold the center in place, and the other hand to rotate the blade arm. Unfortunately, the blade is under the knob (which you hold and rotate) which selects the diameter of the circle. The knob kept moving while in use, so I ended up with obviously flawed circles. Part of the circle was 8″, the other part was 7-5/8″. This happened to every circle I attempted. I could have gotten better results (albeit more slowly) by cutting it out by hand with scissors, which is exactly what I was attempting to avoid! After making my return, I purchased the Fiskars oval & circle cutter. It cost more, but it comes with a mat as well as a guide so you can see exactly where you will cut. I had no trouble using it at all, and made a perfect circle on the first attempt.
