A little disapointed, the original Mexican train set in the aluminum case had the nice 3/8″ thick dominoes that stood on edge well (important part of playing the game) this one has everything else the same but comes with the thin 1/4″ dominoes that can fall over easy. My fault for not asking and assuming it was original(there was no size spec. in the add) but still a little ??? on there part.

One reviewer had stated that these dominoes were only 1/4″ thick, and fell over easily, however the description says “jumbo” sized so I thought I’d take a chance that the reviewer was wrong. Nope, they are 1/4″ thick. I’m returning them. Officially, Jumbo size means 3/8″ thick. The case they come in is really nice, wish I could say the same for the dominoes.

I bought this product about three weeks ago at a local store, and at first I was very pleased with my purchase. The cute “station” made an annoying series of train sounds, but that was what it was designed to do. The dominoes looked good and sturdy, and the case was a nice touch as well. Then I unwrapped the dominoes, put everything back into the case and this was where the first example of poor quality was evident. The dominoes do not fit snuggly in the case; there is too much empty space, so when you pick up the case, the dominoes fall out of their neat stacks and make a mess. Quality issue number two was the latch on my case. It was barely tight enough to hold the lid shut, and in fact, the latch did come open a couple of times just by brushing my hand against it. The worst was yet to come: I brought this set of dominoes to a party for their first use, and to my embarrassment found that not only were certain dominoes MISSING, others were DUPLICATES! There is no excuse for such shoddy workmanship, even in a “made in China” product. The store from which I purchased these dominoes gave me a full refund and said they would pass on my quality issues to their vendor. To be fair to the company, I did buy another set of Cardinal double-twelve dominoes, this one in a simple metal container. All the correct dominoes were there, they look and feel great, and they fit properly in their tin box. I miss the annoying station, but for less than fifteen bucks, I can live with that!
