This is a very nice dark ale with subtle hints of winter spices, and takes kindly to many different yeasts. I have used the standard included yeast, T58, US-05, and Saflager, and all have come out wonderfully. I find myself adding a stalk of cinnamon to the wort after the high krausen period, and it adds some great complexity to the malts. You can’t go wrong with this hopped malt extract; it ferments well, and only gets better with age! After it’s bottled and carbonated, put the bottles in the basement for a month before drinking. The beer becomes less bitter, but far more complex.

A delicious blend! I paired it with vanilla beans and it matched perfectly. Zero bitterness, not sugary, just smooth and rich. If they made it all year long I’d make it a staple but as is its the perfect beer for a cold night.

This review is from: Mr. Beer Diablo IPA Home Brewing Beer Refill Kit (Kitchen)
This is an excellent and very easy to make product from Mr. Beer. It helps of course if you are using the fermenting keg from Mr. Beer. If you can make Kool Aid, you can make Beer. I won’t go into all the details, but know that if you sterilize everything properly and follow the SIMPLE instructions you will have an excellent Ale. IMHO just as good, if not better than Bass Ale. I have made several batches of this and I’m really glad Amazon has it in Prime. It beats the shipping from the Mr. Beer company itself by alot. It does take however three weeks to ferment and four weeks to condition in the bottle before it is ready to drink. REMEBER THIS! Good Luck and Happy Brewing!
