I am very pleased with these. I am on my second pair of mitts (just kind of seeing how I like them with an easy project while getting some stuff made for the winter. Two birds one stone and whatnot). I am very happy with them for the price.
I have nerve damage in my back and one shoulder, which may not seem like it should affect knitting (my hands) much, but I had noticed a lot more discomfort when using metal needles compared to their, much lighter, bamboo counterparts. I did not want to shell out very much to switch over my needles though. I was able to buy two of these 18 pair sets for much less then I thought one set of just what I use most in stores would cost. I also bought a set of this company’s 18 peice circular needles (which I will be using for some hats after one more pair of mitts). As well as the stichberry 5each 15 set of double point bamboo needles. I spent about $40 total to switch over to bamboo completely- really can’t complain about that, lol.
I randomly checked gauges and so far they fit into the gauge checker I have (Boye) the same way my boye aluminum needles do, but seem to be different then the bamboo needles marked with the same gauge (I don’t remember the brand on them though, sorry). I have heard boye seems to be sized a little different then other common brands so these may be comprable to boye in sizing. I’m use to boye so this is good with me. However, I could match a needle from this set to each of my bamboo needles (for instance the 6.0 is the same as the size 10.5us 6.5mm bamboo I already had, the 6.5 in this set is a little thicker but still fits in the guage fine. So take that as you will). So if you already have some needles and need replacements and want to fill I think this is a feasible option because of the 18 in here rather then the normal us 15, you will be able to find a match, it just may have a different stamp.
Overall, for the 60 cents a pair this was when I bought it, I feel it’s a great deal. I was prepared to be a little disappointed, but other then needing to be a bit sharper these are great.

I got hooked on bamboo knitting needles when I had to buy a circular needle. LOVE BAMBOO! It has a warm feeling when you knit with it, and the yarn glides off the needles nicely while still holding stitches. These are crap!! They came all bundled up together in a clear plastic bag. They STUNK of something I don’t even know what it is. But it smells like an automotive, new rubber smell. Something you may expect when opening automotive parts, but not knitting needles. I am hoping airing them out will help. The other issue is that some of the needles are not marked with their size and which ones are you will go blind trying to read!! I’ve spent the last half hour dividing the needles up and matching them. Now to figure out how to mark them so I don’t go blind!! Lastly, the look NOTHING like the one’s in the picture!! The picture looks like your getting nice light colored bamboo knitting needles and instead your getting cheap dark ones. I feel like they are a waste of money.

The needles were shipped from mainland China rubberbanded together in a padded envelope. They were not well protected. When I opened the cellophane wrappers around the needles, several of the knobs on the end of the needles fell off. I’m going to have to go through the entire set looking for loose knobs so I can glue them securely.
I haven’t done any knitting with these yet, but already I’m regretting that I didn’t spend the money on Clover needles. I wish I had known that these were coming from the PRC, as so much of the cheap Chinese merchandise is JUNK.

I’m adding to the review. I’ve been knitting with these needles for several days. The latest pattern requires some knit-togethers (non-stretchy cotton yarn) that put a fair bit of stress on the needles. The needles have bent. They are now permanently curved. Yes, these needles are cheap junk.
