This review is from: PEPPERLONELY Brand Wood Knitting Loom with Yarns and Shuttles (Home) I have two major problems with this loom. The first is the instructions. There are none. There is a small paragraph, on the side of the box, that was written by someone who does not really speak English, or by an engineer—or both. What little there is is not coherent. If you do not already know how to warp, you have a problem. If you are totally inexperienced, you need to get help. The second problem is that, although the loom is warped for a first project, the warp is only as long as the loom, itself. You are better off taking that off and starting from scratch. The box shows a project with three colors of weft, and that is exactly how much there is. The warp is #10 crochet thread, and there are about three yards of baby weight, acrylic yarn for the weft. There is not enough of either to complete more than three inches of weaving. Again you are better off starting from scratch with your own yarn. I suggest a two ply yarn. I have doubts if a three ply would fit, and I am sure that a four ply will not. You might try Peaches and Cream cotton yarn.If you have never woven before, I suggest you start with a simpler loom. Harrisville Designs makes a pretty good pegloom for around $25, or you could try an inkle loom. NOT for KNITTING – this is a LOOM for WEAVING, September 6, 2015 By Science Mom (Durango, CO United States) – This review is from: PEPPERLONELY Brand Wood Knitting Loom with Yarns and Shuttles (Home) Anyone considering buying this item needs to know that it is a LOOM for weaving and not for knitting. Both use yarn, but they are very different activities. If you want to weave, then this can work for you. But if you are buying a gift for someone who wants to KNIT, then this is NOT the item for you. THIS DOES NOT KNIT; For weaving, this would be useful, but since there are no instructions included, you will need to buy a book on basic weaving technique. Another reviewer has suggested that the user should replace the included weft immediately to be able to weave for more than 3″. This is totally doable, if you get a book on weaving. See pic…, December 12, 2015 By Gracespins (Jericho, Vermont, USA) – Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: PEPPERLONELY Brand Wood Knitting Loom with Yarns and Shuttles (Home) This is actually a micro rigid heddle loom, not for young kids, but adapted, it works great for sampling patterns for weavers. It only needs apron rods and a way to wind on a front and back beam. You will need dowels string, some paper cut to loom width. Cut dowel a bit longer. See videos on how to warp a rigid heddle loom.this one has two heddles, you thread front hole trough back slot, and pass yarn through front slot to back heddle hole. You need your own yarn, use thin strong yarn for warp for holes are small and some are irregular. .See what i wove.. I will adapt this loom soon by tieing onto thin dowels tied to thick dowels with string, then wind up a longer warp using paper between wind up back yarns. They give three teeny delicate shuttles smaller than my hand.
