We purchased these racks because during the Mexican Train game tiles kept falling over. We tried several homemade remedies and I just broke down and ordered the racks. I got two sets to accommodate 8 players. A very smart move.

I purchased these along with the Super Train Domino set. The dominos in this set are only a little more than a quarter inch wide and I thought they would tip over easily. We played the Super Train with avid domino players who are not used to using racks. They tried them and after a couple of rounds went back to setting the dominoes on their sides and disregarded the racks. I haven’t played as many domino games (and haven’t developed habits), so was a little more open minded. I really liked using the racks. It was easy to see the dominos and arrange runs without fear of the domino tipping over. I felt it made playing the game a little more fun. A requirement? No, but a nice accessory. The wooden racks are well made, with cleanly sanded edges and slanted bottoms in the grooves which hold the dominos. I thought they enhanced the playing experience.

I bought these to go along with my Mexican Train game. I wanted enough for 8 players, but the seller only had one left, so I had to settle for something else to complete my set. These trays are okay but a little smaller than I thought they would be. The price was reasonable and they aren’t too bulky for storage or taking along with me, along with my game, to play the game elsewhere. You can use these for Rumikub tiles, or just plain dominoes too. They are fine and serve the purpose for they are intended. The slots are 90 degree cuts so the tiles sit upright, but you can still see what’s behind each. Only has 3 slots but still holds enough tiles and the slots are deep enough so the tiles don’t fall over. Not sure about the educational value as requested, but they appear to be durable (made of wood), thus the rating of 5 stars. You won’t be disappointed.
