This review is from: Revell 1:48 F6F-5 Hellcat (Toy) This model was very fun to put together, it was challenging and all the working parts really amaze me. The wings do fold and so do the landing gear. This is one of revels finest model planes and is a must have because of the quality put into the design of it. Only con of it was a small gap where the wings fold but this is a plastic model so small things like that should be expected. Overall the manufacturing and quality of the parts along with good tolerances makes this plane one of my favorites. The design is from 1963 which is neat and I can really see a difference in this one made in Illinois over past models made in china. Quality is definitely better. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment Reply 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful Overall a Great Model!, March 19, 2013 By Chris Von Der Linn “Chris VDL” (Milwaukee WI USA) – This review is from: Revell 1:48 F6F-5 Hellcat (Toy) This is perfect for any level model builder. I would rate myself being an intermediate modeler who can put something together pretty well, given the time and proper tools. This plane went together very fluently and the folding wings and landing gear were just the icing on the cake! The plastic had no issues that I could not fix or work around. Besides the cockpit, I love the detail. This plane looks great and is now displayed proudly on my shelf. I highly reccomend this model to beginners as well as seasoned model building veterians. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment Reply 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful From a kid’s perspective…, February 20, 2015 By Maria Piliero – This review is from: Revell 1:48 F6F-5 Hellcat (Toy) It is fairly easy to put together if you have built a couple of revell models. The cockpit hardly has any detail, which is rather disappointing. Though the kit includes an instrument panel decal, you are unable to use it because the only place you could put it is too far back for you to reach unless you use tweezers and toothpicks. Instead, before I glued the two fuselage halves together I painted several different colored dots that represented instruments you might find in a real cockpit. The folding wing design is very neat but as you can expect, the moving parts easily become frail and can break after you fold them a few times. Overall, this is a good model if you have some experience. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment Reply Leave a comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
