The paint colors needed for this model are not listed, so here they are: flat blackaluminumtanlight brownyellowred (for nose of plane- if painted like the “Flying Tigers”)olive drabgray (if painted the like the US army)light blue (if painted like the “Flying Tigers” or British army)***it would have helped me a lot to know the paint colors in advance, I didn’t have the red for the nose of the plane, so I had to use nail polish for the job instead*** 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment (1) Reply 37 of 38 people found the following review helpful Nice Model, September 27, 2009 By nieuport17 (New England) – = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Revell 1:48 P – 40B Tiger Shark (Toy) The kit comes with 3 different decals: US Army, RAF, and AVG (American Volunteer Group). I liked the fact that this model comes with 2 different parts for open-canopy and close-canopy.This is important because some models canopy parts don’t fit right if you try the opposite as “shown on the box”. For Beginners:This model is not very difficult to assemble. It’s fun to build. (really is).Easy to color. For more advance builders/or more technical builders:The picture shown is more of a P-40C (because it carries an external fuel tank). To build a P-40B from this kit:-Remove the fuel tank.-Change the front canopy or don’t paint the front bracket (and add a bullet proof glass).-Change the cockpit, the cockpit that comes with looks like either N or E model.-Decal change, for AVG, number 14 doesn’t go with the squadron of Hell’s Angel. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment Reply 27 of 30 people found the following review helpful Model Builder, July 26, 2008 By J. C. Bednar “J.C. Bednar” (Junction City, KS USA) – = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Revell 1:48 P – 40B Tiger Shark (Toy) This is an old kit, dating 30+ years old. There are some fit problems and gaps when joining the fuslage to the wings. Compared to the modern manufacturers versions of the P-40, this kit still stands the test of time and can hold its own, especially for the price. You get decals for the U.S. AAF, RAF, and the Flying Tigers. I did the Flying Tigers scheme and painted the kit RAF colours, because that was where they were supposed to go before being diverted to China and the AVG. Historically, the AVG just left the aircraft in their RAF colours and applied Chinese markings. I’m sure that the aftermarket afficiandos can make this a better kit, but it a good kit out of the box and a good kit to start younger people with just entering the modeling hobby. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Comment Reply Leave a comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
