This review is from: Revell 1:535 Uss Missouri Battleship (Toy)
In 1953 and ’54 I was privileged to command three American warships simultaneously. These were the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt, the destroyer USS Sullivan and the battleship USS Missouri. I do believe I was the youngest naval officer at the time, being only 10 years of age.
I took on the Japanese fleet in my bedroom. I accepted their surrender in 1955 aboard the USS Missouri which was stationed on my windowsill. Turning to the world’s press I then announced to all: “These proceedings are now closed.”
I remember these Revell models so very well. It’s been fifty years now, but I still remember deciding not to glue down the guns, allowing them to swivel.
Assembly instructions ranged from easy to impossible. I remember using the picture on the box as an aid. When instructions were easy I enjoyed the work. When instructions got hairy I became upset. Time to yell, “Ma!” though I knew I shouldn’t. I was supposed to do it myself.
“Slow down,” she would tell me. “Do it right. Don’t be in such a hurry to finish.”
I’m glad for the experience of building these models although I’m not exactly sure why it remains in my head. Treasured memories? Perhaps. Maybe something more: Often do I think about the guys who fought and died so that I could be a 10-year old engaging in my fantasies.
Thank you, gentlemen. You are NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN!

Well, this is one of those things I just cannot grow out of doing. I love assembling these models. I like them in the unpainted formats – I dont like to paint them – thats me.
The quality is reasonably ok – thats cause mine came with a slight warp. If it was any other part of the ship it would have been easy to straighten unfortunately the main body itself was warped.
Eventually I put it together – but I wish the vendor would check the products prior to despatching.
Btw in case ur wondering why I gave a 4 star rating for educational value – its just because it take a load of patience/dedication to complete.

This is a great replica of the Mighty Mo (uss Missouri). I have seen and been on the ship before and I think this is a very good replica of the Mighty Mo. Its pretty good for beginners as long as you enjoy painting. The paint you need is black, wood tan, red,and silver.
