This is an excellent bow!!! great power which means it may not be so easy for beginners to shoot but if you’ve got the muscle its not too difficult. The bow came with a sight which i didn’t care for but i didn’t buy this for the sight i just bought it for the bow itself and with a new sight i can shoot up to 50 yards effortlessly with minimal practice. Its very lightweight at only 4lbs so its easy to take on long hunts. I highly recommend this bow for anyone looking to take their hunting to the next level for a very affordable price.

I bought this bow in June, and killed a magnificent male razorback with it in July in Okeechobee Fla.. I added a whisker-biscuit rest, and a peepsight. I used the old fashioned sights that came with the bow. I shot the boar with Razor-Trick broadhead, and carbon arrows at 300 spine.
The bow incorrectly advertised draw weights of 40-55 lbs. I lowered the draw weight down as far as it would go, and it still measured out at 53 pounds at the bow-shop. I killed the boar with it at 53 pounds, and have not changed it. I expect it would be around 70 pounds pull at full setting. I’m leaving it at 53 because I use my fingers/bow-glove to release the arrow instead of the mechanical kind of release. I’m sure the expensive bows have some advantages, but I like this design as it retains the feel of using a wood bow, but can be shot with more accuracy because of the sights. This thing will kill any animal in North America Needless to say, this bow was an incredible bargain.

Just got it in last night. Obviously was a previously sold and returned unit but for the price I was OK with it. It was purchased for my wife who would rather bow hunt than use a rifle. This was meant to be an upgrade to her 40-50lb recurve bow, but unless she builds up some muscles, it may end up being mine. We started off with her first bow from Academy Sports and Outdoors. It was a starter kit with a nylon framed recurve bow, some arrows, a sight, and a foam target. With that bow set to it’s lightest pull, she got used to bow shooting again and quickly wanted more power so I turned it up. Later I installed a few other options for her like a better sight, whisker biscuit and turned it up to full power. At 50 yards (the length of our back yard range) she was planting the arrows into the wood panels behind her target. Her accuracy has grown amazingly with that bow. Last night, I assembled her new bow ,SAS Siege 55 lb 29” Compound Bow, with the whisker biscuit, a fiber optic sight, and a new quiver. I lined everything up loosely to sight it in for a test shot. I picked out a target arrow and fired it at her foam target. It planted close enough to where I was aiming to fire another, which also planted well into the target fairly close to where the sight was aiming. I can say with ease, I just lost two arrows! Both tips planted soo deep into the wood, that I cannot get them back out. For my 5 foot, 100lb bride, this may be too much right now. She will have to increase her strength some just to pull it and I’ll have to invest in some much thicker foam targets. UPDATE: I got a good education from a couple of bow hunting experts about this and other compound bows. Before you just buy a bow, like I did, measure your arm span (finger tip to finger tip) and divide that by 2.5. That will tell you what size bow to order. My wifes came out to a 23 inch bow and mine came out to a 28 inch. In other words, this bow is far too large for her and actually a little too big for me (I’m 5 foot 8). I can make it work for me so I’ll keep it and maybe later buy the correct one for my arm span. Also DO NOT fire fiberglass arrows with this or any compound bow. Use aluminum or carbon fiber arrows and the correct size for this bow is a 31 inch, 250 diameter with a 100 grain point. Fiberglass arrows flex upon release and can explode before leaving the bow. Keep yours and your loved ones safety in mind here. It was also recommended that I have this bow restrung because this type of string set up can come apart during release and do a lot of damage to the archers arm, shoulder and face. (of course any thing strung this tight can do that, but I was told this 3 piece string is prone to coming apart at the attachment loops) I’m not adding all of this to degrade the bow, I’m still pleased with what I have here. It will need some professional work before it is safe for hunting as is. Still a great deal for the price. After my bow tech had his hands on this bow. I’m happy to report that he deems this bow is perfectly safe and he does not understand why my hunting buddy wouldn’t trust the stringing of it. He put on a nock point for me, checked and made a couple minor adjustments then handed it back saying happy shooting… I’ve been shooting this bow as stress reliever for a couple weeks now and I can say it really is worth much more than the price payed! I have removed the sight and now just shoot instinctively. The sights were messing me up. I have since reinforced my target with 4 bails of hay and now have a plastic/foam deer target to put infront of the hay. This bow has the power to blow through them still but at least I’m not blowing into the wood and metal behind all of that anymore. An amazing bow and it earns the 5th star with ease, even after I was sent a used one in an opened box.
