I put this thing through a true test!!! A day of constant casting and reeling at a stocked pond and then a day that resulted in the reeling in of a 12lb flathead!! Smooth as silk casting and never missed a beat reeling in!!

Don’t let the price fool you. My first opinion when I got it, was that it looks and feels cheap. Baited a small treble hook with chicken skin and caught and reeled in a 8.5 pound Speckled Catfish. The reel is small and cheap, but only in “price”. I caught that fish from the bank and hooked it about 25 Ft out and it put up quite a fight. I gave that reel a “real” test and reeled it in onto the bank where I stood. No problem at all. For information sake I was top fishing with a large round red and white bobber and that fish made that bobber dissapear. Solid pole, easy to use and feels good in your hand. Some of the reviews had suggested it was good for smaller kids, it’s not that the pole it too hard to use, it’s just too big for them. (ages 5 and 6) I ended up buying a couple of kids poles for them after it became obvious this wasn’t going to work for them.
Used it myself for a few days and had no troubles at all with it. I even had a couple of the older kids we were with try it out and outside not being good at casting due to lack of practice they handled the pole pretty well. I recommend to anyone who is physically big enough to handle the pole size.
