I picked these up at a Michael’s; getting back into calligraphy and I didn’t have any pens or ink. I wanted this rather than the single pot of ink because I was wondering what a pen cleaner would do and because I really like playing with the metallic colors. I’m still not sure of the advantages of a pen cleaner. I can do the same with any number of other substances. I guess it just looks more specialized? The silver and gold don’t quite have the pop that I was expecting them to. I used to have a pot of gold ink that really stood out, and this is more of a yellow, even after vigorously shaking. I’m sure I’ll find its uses, but for now I’m just sticking to the black ink. I’m very happy, however, with the black ink. Everything about it is smooth and it glides onto the paper extremely well. (To be fair, so do the silver and gold; you just can’t see them). Also, the level of ink within the bottles is about half. That’s good for not spilling them, but it feels a little deceptive. Ultimately, I think I would have been better just to get a pot of black ink!

I bought this at Jo-anns and love it! I also saw some reviews saying the gold is yellow more than gold.It is sort of yellow before mixed. At the bottom of the metallic’s there is some pigments that do not mix while shaking. I got a toothpick and stirred the gold to make it really pop, after that i could see a difference.

I have purchased many inks..but was very disappointed as it was either too light or watery. This Ink has the perfect consistency and is definitely opaque. The calligraphy dip pen writes perfectly with these ink and I would definitely buy more of these. Very Very happy. Just shake well before use.

I like the ink, but the bottles are small,
