The bad – the gears fit too tightly in the case and I could picture my 6 year old breaking them trying to get them out of the case. Also, this is pretty major… this set uses something called “spirograph putty” to hold the main rings in place instead of the old pins we used to use. Probably for safety reasons but, the problem is this putty leaves a gap under the ring for the the gear to slide under. Ruins the whole thing. You have to hold down the ring yourself to keep it from sliding. Something a child with small hands will have trouble with. I really don’t like the putty thing. At least the rings still have the holes so I can try to locate some pins to use like the old days. This review is from: Spirograph The Original Spirograph (Toy) They have thinned the plastic out so much that the wheels actually warp during use. My kids and I only got 4 or 5 hours of play time with them before the wheels and circles began to mishap. All but two are now useless for playing with. Very disappointed!
