This puzzle has such beautiful colors, it will be hard to pack it back in the box when it is finished. The puzzle is high quality with well-fitting pieces. It is rather large, so check the size of your working surface! There are some odd-shaped pieces to make it more of a challenge. In fact the puzzle is a fun blend of the traditional square-grid puzzle pieces, some rounded pieces like in a circular puzzle,and then some funky transition pieces thrown in for fun. Makes it all a bit more challenging and interesting for veteran puzzle do-ers.

I thoroughly enjoyed solving this puzzle. The manufacturer did not use a “cookie cutter” design for shaping the pieces. In addition, the unique shape of the puzzle added to the challenge. My only complaint is that the pieces do not “adhere” well together after being interlocked; I had to re-assemble sections of the puzzle after transferring it short distances during the time I worked with it, as some of the pieces became separated from one another.

Our family does a lot of puzzles around the holidays and It’s been fun to do a differently shaped puzzle. However we rely on the photograph to show us exactly what the edges of the puzzle will look like and it doesn’t. The image appears on a gold background, and some of the edges are rimmed with the gold, and others are not. There’s also text in the puzzle from the manufacturer that doesn’t show on the photo. There are also a LOT of straight edge pieces which aren’t actually part of the edge… so be forewarned that this is one of the challenges. Mainly I’m dinging the puzzle a point for the poor cropping of the image on the puzzle, and for the fact that the cut on the pieces isn’t as clean as the product from the bigger puzzle manufacturers. In fact, we have one piece that is clearly two pieces that are only half separated. Not a bad puzzle, but has a few issues.
