Shame on Amazon for doing business with a company that performs little or no quality control or validation of product functionality. Multiple issues: #1- This dart board ONLY uses an AC Adapter and will not run on batteries #2- When I received the dart board, the ‘Start/Next’ button would not work. I contacted Amazon and they sent me a replacement in 2 days, which was good. #3- Unfortunately, the replacement dart board had a further problem, that certain portions of the board would not register when properly hit by a dart. Amazon is now shipping me another, 3rd dart board, and has promised to ‘check’ prior to shipping. I could not get a clear understanding from them regarding what they mean by this. We’ll see what happens when the 3rd one is sent out.

I am a novice dart player who is enduring his first official dart league season. I thought that I was a decent darter before league, but I discovered that even one of the three blind mice on about 4 pints of hooch could out preform me. Suffice it to say, my biggest problem was lack of ability to practice. Then my Fiance’ bought this to prevent me from spending every evening after work at the pub. I love this board!! I have a number of sets of darts and all degree of tips will stick. I throw my darts with a little bit more “authority” and less loft and have determined that the best dart tip for this board and my style of throw would be the short tips. I & my Fiance’ have thrown at this board, using both long and short tips, and I have determined that all tips, of all styles, will stick in this board; and depending on your style, they will stick like white on rice! If you buy this board, I would also suggest a broken tip removal tool as well; because tips stick effectively enough in this board that eventually you’ll need one! I throw 18gram darts and this does not deter the board from hugging each tip as snug as one of the cheepo darts that come with the board. In addition, the digital display on this thing is top notch!! Easily readable and tailored for multiple players. Now that I have reviewed what I love, there are a few faults, and I would be remiss not to acknowledge them. The first one is one of the first things that was noticed: The amazon description states that this board is battery optional… This is not true!! I had to rethink where I positioned it because it requires an outlet for the power adapter. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A BATTERY OPERATED BOARD: IGNORE THE AMAZON DESCRIPTION, AND STEER CLEAR!!! THIS BOARD IS PLUG IN ONLY!!! Secondly, it might be the fact that I use 18gram darts on this board, but sometimes the board will register one of my misses as a hit. As in, I will aim for a double 3 and miss on the outer rim of the board, the board will register it as a double 17 or even double 2; this isn’t regulated to outside the 3 either, this problem happens around the whole board. I figure it is a hypersensitivity issue that might become worse when using heavier darts. I don’t mind, I can adjust the score after the round so that any miss reads actually count as bounce outs, so easily remedied. Overall, even with a few minor faults, this board gets more use then my TV!! I love this thing!! I have never found an item so essential in my daily life, and if I ever need another board, I will buy another one of these.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product(What’s this?)
I used to play these plastic darts quite often at neighborhood bars with friends. We always had a great time! I thought my teenage kids would like to play this at home. The board is very nice, with lots of game options. The darts are very nice (not junky) with lots of extra tips.
Mine is not the model that takes batteries, so it plugs in. While I like that it is never “dead”, it does limit where you can hang it based on proximity to an electrical outlet. I ended up putting mine on the back of a door in a longer hallway. We rarely close that door, and it is a nice, long, bright, common-area, location (and near a plug!) I just used one nail and some sticky tac putty to keep it still on the door. I don’t think it is “regulation” to not level it and use multiple nails, but…we aren’t that serious of players.
The games are fun. We like the 301 (because we aren’t that skilled really, and counting down to exactly zero seems to give everyone a chance to get lucky! ha ha!) It is nice that there is a little pocket to hold the darts when you are done. The only thing we have trouble with is that when light shines on it, it is sometimes hard to see the lights. And we sometimes don’t know whose turn it is. It isn’t obvious how to pause it to pull out the darts for the next player (and not register a score.) I am sure the more we play, the better we will get at player changing without screwing up the scores.
It is very nice game not only for adults, but for older kids who have outgrown Candyland or something. That is a tough age to please. I found myself playing it one day while stuck on the phone! ha ha!! I had another one of these before, but it was very cheap..the scores didn’t register accurately and the darts always broke. This is much nicer quality. It isn’t a commercial-level type machine, but very nice (and FUN!) for home use.
BONUS!! My kids have gotten MUCH better at quick mental math by playing this! Not only addition, but subtraction (with games like 301) and even multiplication when they get a double or triple score!
