I started this puzzle in early December and just finished it yesterday. I couldn’t tell you how many hours it took as building it was quite intermittent. But it was an enjoyable experience.
I love the print and it looks great once completed. Fred Swan is a gifted artist.
The puzzle was harder than I thought it would be, but it wasn’t too challenging to be discouraging. There are several difficult parts in the foreground and background, but enough variety to give you plenty of early momentum (the house, the outbuilding).
I loved the fact that the pieces were large and varied in their cuts. Other 1000 piece puzzles appeared so small too me that I’d need to buy a magnifying glass! Not this one. But at 24″ X 30″ make sure you have a large enough surface to use.
Pieces were great quality and fit together fine. Perhaps the bitter reviews were from an earlier production that didn’t feature the ‘blue’ cardboard.
I was really impressed with the quality of the White Mountain puzzle and would not hesitate to buy another.

Wonderful puzzle. The pieces are fairly thick cardboard and pretty robust (no peeling). They are all individual shapes, which makes the puzzle a bit easier. In general, the puzzle is fairly easy, since there are many different colors and objects in the picture. The pieces smoothly fit into each other and there is no second guessing as to whether two pieces really belong together or not. The colors of the puzzle are very pretty, lots of purpleish blue. Especially doing the starry night sky was fun, such a pretty picture (you can’t see it as well in the pictures I uploaded, but there are stars all over the night sky and lots of other little details). I highly recommend the puzzle.

We do a Christmas/winter puzzle every year, and we just completed this one. I am not a puzzle expert I guess like some of the others who posted reviews, but this was just fine, I didn’t find anything wrong with the quality or the pieces. We enjoyed it.
